Coghlan’s Bear Bell is a loud bell for hiking, backpacking and other outdoor activities. The bell rings as you move, making your presence audible in the surrounding area. Its purpose is to help reduce the chance of unexpectedly encountering animals at close range.

The bear bell can be attached with the hook-and-loop strap to a backpack, clothing, bicycle, sled, walking pole or ski pole. When the bell is not needed, it can be silenced with the built-in magnetic silencer.

Magnetic silencer

The bell has a small magnet that holds the internal clapper in place. This allows the bear bell to be completely silenced during breaks, transport or when moving through urban areas.

When the magnet is released, the bell starts ringing again as you move.
