Important information on the recommended temperature range
The recommended temperature ranges are based on the personal experience of the Lesovik team, the opinion of the test team and user impressions over the last 5 years. In addition, a recommendation based on 30 years of experience of the product manufacturer, AURA. Individual sensations may vary depending on sensitivity to cold, psychophysical conditions and weather conditions (wind and humidity increase the feeling of cold). The down topquilt should always be used with an underblanket or sleeping pad appropriate to the conditions. It is also advisable to use a merino wool underwear. Topquilt is not a substitute for a sleeping bag! You can read about this in the EN standard on thermal values.
What is a quilt / topquilt?
Quilts are a bit like a “sleeping bag” that is open at the back. Quilts are generally about 20% lighter than sleeping bags with similar values. The Quilt is based on the idea that it makes no sense to put insulation on the back because it will flatten under the sleeper and lose its insulating properties. The real insulation of the underside always comes from the sleeping pad or, alternatively, the underlay, as if you were sleeping in a hammock.
Qults are very popular, especially with hammock trekkers, but are rapidly gaining popularity with regular trekkers. Many people have found the Quilt to be a relief from the claustrophobia caused by the sleeping bag. It is much easier to get under a Quilt than a traditional sleeping bag.
A quality breakthrough
Topquilt HEX is the result of a long design process to achieve an extremely high quality product with precise details. The Topquilt HEX features ease of use, ultra-light weight and unrivalled comfort. Topquilt HEX does not need to be attached in any way, it fits around the sleeper, but still allows the necessary movement. All you have to do is put your foot inside the footwell and cover yourself with HEX, just like a regular blanket. Thanks to its unique design, it works as well on a sleeping pad as it does in a hammock. There is no simpler insulation solution for camping.
