Telescopic tarp pole makes it possible to pitch a tarp even when suitable trees are not available. The Bushmen Tarp Pole is a three-section aluminium pole with continuously adjustable length from approximately 95 to 230 cm. It can be used as a support pole for a tarp, to create an additional shelter next to a tent or vehicle, or for other outdoor shelter setups.

The telescopic construction makes it easy to adjust the height for different tarp configurations. The Bushmen design is adjusted by twisting the pole, setting the sections to the desired length and then locking them in place. The three sections remain connected as one unit, so there are no separate loose pole sections to handle or store.

Telescopic tarp pole when there are no trees

A tarp cannot always be pitched between trees. At an open campsite, on a beach, beside a vehicle or in front of a tent, a tarp pole provides an artificial support point and allows the tarp to be raised to the desired height.

The maximum length of 230 cm provides plenty of height, for example at the entrance or living area of a shelter. When shortened, the same pole can be used for a lower, more wind-protected pitch.

Easily adjustable length from 95 to 230 cm

The Bushmen Tarp Pole consists of three telescopic aluminium sections. According to the manufacturer, height adjustment is simple: half a turn releases the adjustment, the desired height is set and turning in the opposite direction locks the sections in place.

The 95–230 cm adjustment range makes the pole suitable for many different uses. It can be used to raise the centre of a tarp, support a tarp edge or create a separate canopy.

Protected tip and attachment loops for tarp setup

The top of the pole has a pin that can be inserted through a suitable tarp attachment loop or eyelet. The pin is protected by a removable cap when not in use.

The upper section also includes attachment loops for guy lines. This allows the pole to be stabilised from several directions using guy lines and stakes.

Wide foot for practical use

The bottom of the tarp pole has a widened plastic foot. This provides a larger contact area than the end of a plain tube and makes the pole easier to position on different surfaces.

This is particularly useful when the pole is used next to a tent or vehicle and you do not want the end of the pole pressing directly into the ground.
