Description

Ultralight Backpack 50 L Elementum Pack Ecopak | Liteway

Ultralight backpack 50 L Elementum Pack is a frameless hiking backpack for outdoor users who need more capacity than smaller ultralight packs while still keeping the pack itself as light as possible. Liteway Elementum Pack offers a total volume of 50 litres, a roll-top closure, hipbelt pockets, large side pockets and multiple external attachment points. The Mavaja version is made from Ecopak™ EPX200 and has a complete weight of approximately 740 g.

Elementum is designed for long-distance hiking and lightweight backpacking. The frameless construction helps reduce weight while providing more capacity than the Gramless Pack 35 L. The manufacturer states a maximum load of 12 kg.

Ultralight backpack 50 L for longer hiking trips

Of the Elementum Pack’s 50-litre total volume, the main compartment provides 37 litres. In addition, the backpack features a 6-litre stretch front pocket, two 2-litre side pockets, two 0.5-litre shoulder strap pockets and two 1-litre zipped hipbelt pockets.

The larger capacity makes Elementum a good choice for multi-day hiking trips and situations where you need to carry more food, a warmer sleep system or a larger amount of equipment than in a smaller ultralight backpack.

Frameless hiking backpack for a lightweight gear setup

Elementum Pack is a frameless backpack, so the way the load is packed has a direct effect on carrying comfort. Soft equipment can be arranged against the back panel to create a more even surface, and loops on the back of the pack allow a sleeping pad to be attached externally.

The manufacturer states a maximum load of 12 kg. Elementum performs best when the overall load remains moderate and the heaviest equipment is packed close to the back.

Trapezoidal pack shape for practical packing

The Elementum Pack body has a slightly trapezoidal shape. According to Liteway, this shape makes the main compartment easier to pack and helps make practical use of the available internal space.

The roll-top closure allows the pack volume to be adjusted to the load. With less equipment, the top can be rolled down more tightly. With a fuller load, the roll-top provides additional usable space without a heavy lid or complex zip system.

Ecopak EPX200 – lightweight and durable main fabric

This Liteway Elementum Pack is made from Ecopak™ EPX200. The material is made from 100% recycled polyester components.

Ecopak EPX200 features a fluorocarbon-free C0 DWR treatment and a 70-denier ripstop backing fabric. It is designed to combine low weight, durability and a waterproof fabric structure.

The Elementum Pack Ecopak EPX200 body weighs approximately 665 g, while the complete pack with the included removable components weighs approximately 740 g.

Waterproof fabric, but not a fully waterproof backpack

The Ecopak EPX200 main fabric is waterproof, but the seams are not taped. For this reason, the backpack as a whole is not waterproof.

A sleeping bag, spare clothing, electronics and other moisture-sensitive equipment should be protected with a separate dry bag or waterproof pack liner.

Seven additional pockets for quick-access gear

Elementum Pack has seven additional pockets in total. They make it easier to keep frequently used items accessible without opening the main compartment.

  • Stretch front pocket: 6 L
  • Side pockets: 2 × 2 L
  • Shoulder strap stretch pockets: 2 × 0.5 L
  • Zipped hipbelt pockets: 2 × 1 L

According to the manufacturer, the side pockets can hold approximately 1.5–2 litre water bottles. The large external pockets are also practical for rain gear or other equipment needed during the day.

Hipbelt and removable load lifters

Elementum Pack has a hipbelt with a zipped one-litre pocket on each side. The pockets also include small carabiners for securing useful small items.

The backpack features quick-release load lifter straps with G-hooks. These allow the position of the upper part of the pack to be adjusted according to the load and the user.

Attachment points for additional equipment

Loops around the Elementum Pack can be used with elastic cord to secure additional lightweight equipment to the outside of the backpack. Loops on the back of the pack can also be used to attach a sleeping pad.

Two lower attachment loops can be used for trekking poles or an ice axe. Elementum is also compatible with a hydration system.

Choose the correct torso length

Liteway Elementum Pack is available in four torso lengths:

  • XS: 40 cm
  • S: 45 cm
  • M: 50 cm
  • L: 55 cm

The size should primarily be selected according to torso length rather than overall body height, as body proportions vary between users.
