Ultralight Silpoly tarp Liteway Biggie Tarp is a large yet lightweight square shelter for hiking, backpacking, hammock camping and general camp use. Measuring approximately 294 × 294 cm, it offers generous coverage for one or more people as well as their gear.

The square shape allows a wide range of pitching configurations, from a traditional A-frame to more enclosed pyramid-style setups. Biggie Tarp weighs only around 400 g, or approximately 450 g with guylines and stuff sack.

Large ultralight tarp for hiking and camping

Biggie Tarp provides protection from rain, wind and sun without the weight or structure of a conventional tent. With approximately 8.6 m² of coverage, it offers plenty of space for sleeping, storing gear or creating a shared camp shelter.

The generous coverage also makes it a useful option for hammock camping when you want more side protection and room than a smaller tarp can provide.

Multiple pitching configurations

The square 294 × 294 cm shape gives you plenty of freedom when pitching. Biggie Tarp can be set up in several ways, including:

• A-frame for a classic ridgeline shelter
• Pyramid-style shelter for increased side and wind protection
• A lower pitch for windier conditions
• An open canopy for camp use or sun protection
• A large rain shelter over a hammock

The tarp can be pitched using trekking poles, trees or other suitable support points.

Catenary cut for a taut pitch

Biggie Tarp uses a catenary cut. The curved edges are designed to help the fabric tension evenly and reduce flapping when the tarp is pitched correctly.

All eight attachment points feature line lock adjusters, allowing you to fine-tune guyline tension quickly without having to untie knots.

Silpoly 20D Ripstop 2000 mm

Biggie Tarp is made from lightweight 1.1 oz Silpoly 20D Ripstop with a stated waterproof rating of 2000 mm.

Silpoly is silicone-coated polyester designed for lightweight outdoor shelters. Polyester stretches less than nylon when wet, which helps the tarp maintain good tension in rainy conditions.

Seams must be sealed by the user

The seams of Biggie Tarp are not factory sealed. If the tarp will be used in rain, the seams should be treated with a suitable silicone-based seam sealer before use.

A silicone-based seam sealer such as Seam Grip SIL is suitable for this type of fabric.

UHMW PE guylines

The tarp is supplied with lightweight UHMW PE guylines. The material is strong, very light and has low stretch, helping the tarp maintain tension in changing weather conditions.

Compatible with Biggie Mesh 2P

Biggie Tarp can be combined with the Liteway Biggie Mesh 2P mesh inner. Together they form a lightweight double-wall, frameless shelter system for two people.

The tarp provides protection from rain and wind, while Biggie Mesh 2P adds insect protection and a separate enclosed sleeping area.
