Ultralight Tent for three – Scout Tarp ULTRA 3P Liteway

Good wind resistance

The Scout tarp tent ULTRA is hexagonal in shape. The hexagonal shape makes the tent stable and wind resistant, making the Scout tarp tent Ultra a good choice for varying weather conditions. Please note that the product does not include hiking poles/centre pole and wedges, these must be purchased separately.

By combining the Scout Full Mesh 3P mesh tent or the Scout Half Mesh 1P mesh tent with the Scout Tarp Tent Ultra 3P, you can create a very lightweight double-layer tent.

Optimised interior space

Thanks to its hexagonal shape, the tent offers a spacious and functional interior. The absence of corners helps to make efficient use of every square centimetre. The interior space of the Scout model is a sumptuous 5.85 m2.

Entrance

This pyramid tent features a single T-shaped entrance with a sturdy YKK Aquaguard #5 zipper. A long vertical zipper and side-rolling doors make passage easy.

Need for wedges

The manufacturer recommends a minimum of 6 wedges (wedges not included). Additional wedges are required if windier weather is expected. In this case, it is advisable to wedge additional poles into the additional anchors on the sides of the tarp tent.

Standing

• Spread the fabric and secure the corners to the ground with wedges
• Position the walking stick (handle up) or central pole from the inside of the tarp to the top of the tent (165 cm long)
• If necessary, wedge in additional anchoring pegs
• Use the tensioning pegs to adjust the tent to stand upright

How to choose the right tent model?

We recommend you choose a Solo or Duo series tent if you are 175 cm or less tall. For taller people, we recommend choosing a Plus, Max or Scout tent. Biggie and Simple tents are more comfortable for taller campers due to their more vertical walls. However, please note that the level of comfort in any shelter will depend on your personal comfort zone and the thickness of your sleeping pad.

About seams and patching

The main seams of the Scout Tarp are glued, so there is no need to seal them like the Silpoly models. Due to the material and manufacturing process, some parts of the tent may have additional seams, but this is very rare. If there is a hole in the tent, the material is easily patched by taping.

About the material

UltraTNT™ is a lightweight and durable composite material consisting of two layers of 0.25 mil PET film. It is ultra-lightweight and waterproof (does not absorb water). It is especially used in outdoor equipment such as tents. Although it is slightly heavier than Dyneema, it is a cheaper option and offers better durability in demanding conditions. In addition, the material softens in use, which improves its packability and manageability.
