Selva 600 is an oval-shaped down underquilt designed for hammock cammping in winter conditions. It can also be used as a lightweight sleeping bag or top quilt inside the hammock. This underquilt features an H-chamber construction, making it significantly more insulating than sewn-through like Selva 120 model.is. designs. It has 10 individual down chambers for optimal thermal efficiency.
The H-baffle construction combined with a differential cut (inner and outer fabrics are different sizes) ensures that down stays evenly distributed, minimizing cold spots. Compared to the lighter Selva 120 with sewn-through construction, this model provides significantly more insulation. Ten longitudinal down-filled chambers reduce down migration. The underquilt should be regularly fluffed to maintain loft.
When installing the underquilt, please note that one end is slightly wider – this end should be positioned at the head.
Pertex® Quantum DWR is a lightweight, durable, and windproof technical fabric designed specifically for outdoor and camping gear. The DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment makes the fabric water-resistant, preventing moisture from penetrating and improving weather resistance. This material strikes an excellent balance between lightness, durability, and breathability, making it ideal for down-filled underquilts. Its tightly woven structure helps prevent down leakage.
The Selva 600 is filled with certified ethical Polish goose down with a fill power of 850 cuin. This high-quality down offers excellent thermal insulation and compressibility, making it an ideal choice for hammock underquilts. The quality ensures that Selva 600 maintains its thermal performance and light weight even under moist or repeated use conditions. Cumulus sources its down responsibly from geese that live freely with access to water, ensuring the production meets high ethical and environmental standards.
Ease of use is one of the Selva 600’s core strengths. The product includes shock cords used to create a suspension system at both ends. The shock cord is split in two and threaded through sliders located at the short ends. The underquilt is then attached to suspension lines independently of the shock cord.
There are five loops on each long side, allowing the underquilt to be hung up for airing or drying. These loops can also be used to reroute the shock cords along the long sides, attaching them to the suspension lines using carabiners. In this configuration, the underquilt can be easily adjusted while lying in the hammock.
