The Wood Slide is a handy accessory that automatically feeds firewood into the firebox of the Bushbox woodstove. This means you don’t have to manually add firewood all the time, you can use longer branches and let them slide into the firebox by themselves.
The Wood Slide is inserted into the firebox opening at a slight angle using small protrusions. The corner of the slide has chains with links to attach it to the notches in the corners of the wood stove. The angle of inclination can be adjusted by means of the chain links. For heavier and longer branches, a steeper angle is recommended, so that the wood slides more easily and the Bushbox remains stable, preventing tipping.
The Bushbox is lit in the usual way, then wood is added via the Wood Slider. Wood slides automatically into the firebox as the fire burns, eliminating the need to constantly add fuel by hand. This frees the user to concentrate on cooking, which can be done with the Bushbox using, for example, the XL model trivets, the Grill Grate or the XL Grill Rack.
If the wooden tray is placed very flat, it can also be used as a platform to keep drinks warm. Please note that the chain is resistant to high temperatures, but should not be touched with bare hands. Always wear protective gloves when handling hot parts.
Tip: If the wood does not slide smoothly enough, it can be pushed deeper into the firebox by hand to keep the fire steady and safe.
