Description
Glowstick 15 cm BasicNature
BasicNature Glowstick is a single-use light stick for marking campsites, identifying equipment and emergency use. It works without batteries or charging, making it ready to use even when other light sources fail.
The glow stick is activated by bending it, allowing the chemicals inside to mix. According to the manufacturer, it produces its brightest light for approximately 30 minutes, remains bright for around two hours and then continues to glow at a lower intensity for up to 10 hours.
The glow stick works in rain and even underwater. Using the included lanyard, it can be attached to a backpack, tent, hammock ridgeline or used to mark routes and obstacles in the dark.

Our Take
The biggest advantage of a glow stick is reliability. It does not require batteries, charging or electronics. For this reason, many outdoor users keep one or two glow sticks in a first aid kit, vehicle or emergency gear in case a headlamp battery runs out or a backup light is needed.
In camping use, glow sticks are particularly useful for marking camp hazards. Hammock suspension lines, tent stakes and other obstacles that are difficult to see in the dark become much easier to spot when a glow stick is placed nearby.
Green and yellow are generally the most visible colours in darkness. Red light is less disruptive to night vision, making it a practical choice for use around camp after dark.
