Description
Twist-Lock Trekking Poles (Pair) Origin Outdoors
The Twist-Lock trekking poles are telescopic hiking poles made from 6061 aluminium, with length adjustment handled through twist-lock mechanisms. The manufacturer specifies an adjustment range of 65–135 cm and a total weight of 492 g per pair. This makes them a practical all-round option for hiking and trekking. They are not ultralight, but aluminium construction generally withstands impacts and rough use better than lighter carbon fibre alternatives.
The cork handles feature an extended grip section below the main handle. This is a useful feature on short climbs where you may want a lower hand position without stopping to adjust the pole length. Adjustable wrist straps provide additional support and help reduce hand fatigue during longer hikes.
The tungsten carbide tips provide reliable grip on hard-packed trails, gravel, and rocky terrain. Rubber tip protectors are included for transport and use on hard surfaces. Two sets of interchangeable baskets improve versatility across different terrain types.

Who It’s For
Suitable for hikers looking for adjustable trekking poles for day hikes, trekking, and varied terrain.
A good choice for users who appreciate an extended grip section for quick hand-position changes on climbs.
Who It’s Not For
Not the best option for ultralight hikers, as 492 g per pair is not particularly light by modern standards.
Not ideal for users who strongly prefer flip-lock adjustment systems.
How Does the Twist-Lock Adjustment Work?
The lock is loosened by twisting the pole section, allowing the shaft to be extended or shortened. Once the desired length has been reached, the section is tightened again by twisting in the opposite direction. Do not extend beyond the maximum length markings.
Why Does the Grip Extend Further Down the Shaft?
On steep ascents, trekking poles can feel too long. The extended grip allows you to move your hands lower on the pole without stopping to adjust the length, making terrain changes quicker and easier to handle.
Our Note
Twist-lock mechanisms should be tightened with dry hands and checked before descending steep terrain. If a lock is not fully secured, the pole can collapse under load at the moment you need support most.
