Ultralight backpack 45 L Liteway Biggie Pack Ultra is a frameless hiking backpack designed for long-distance hiking, lightweight backpacking and travel. Its minimalist construction, 45-litre total volume and lightweight Ultra™ 200 fabric make it a strong option for hikers whose overall gear setup is already compact and lightweight.

According to Liteway’s technical specifications, Biggie Pack Ultra 45L weighs approximately 570 g. With removable straps, shock cord and other cords removed, the weight is approximately 480 g. The maximum recommended load is 12 kg.

Ultralight backpack for long-distance hiking

Biggie Pack Ultra 45L is designed for hikers who want generous capacity without the weight of a conventional framed backpack. Because the pack is frameless, it performs best when the rest of the hiking gear is also lightweight and the load is packed carefully.

The 45-litre total volume includes the main compartment and the external pockets, allowing frequently used items to remain accessible without opening the main compartment.

Roll top closure and adjustable capacity

The main compartment closes with a roll top closure. The opening is rolled down and secured with straps, allowing the upper part of the pack to adjust to the amount of gear carried.

Biggie Pack Ultra also has removable roll top side straps, a central top compression strap and removable load lifter straps. These allow the carrying system to be adapted to personal preferences, and unnecessary components can be removed to save weight.

Frameless construction – use a sleeping pad for support

Biggie Pack Ultra 45L is a frameless backpack. Liteway recommends using a sleeping pad or suitable foam pad at the back to give the pack additional structure.

A foam or sleeping pad can help support the back panel and smooth out the load against your back. When packing, avoid placing hard or angular items directly against the back.

Seven additional pockets

Biggie Pack Ultra 45L has a total of 7 additional pockets:

• 1 large front pocket
• 2 large side pockets
• 2 stretch mesh shoulder strap pockets
• 2 zipped hip belt pockets

The large front pocket is made from Ultra™ 200 fabric rather than stretch mesh. The external shock cord system on the front can also be used to secure lightweight equipment or wet clothing.

Large side pockets for water bottles

Each side of the backpack has a large pocket that can accommodate approximately 1.5–2 litre plastic bottles.

The side pockets have drainage openings at the bottom, allowing rainwater to escape rather than collecting inside the pocket.

Shoulder strap mesh pockets

Both shoulder straps have small stretch mesh pockets. Their adjustment system allows them to be opened and closed with one hand.

They are useful for a small bottle, smartphone, snacks or other items that need to remain quickly accessible while hiking.

Hip belt and zipped pockets

Both sides of the hip belt have an approximately one-litre zipped pocket. These are useful for snacks, a phone, navigation items or other small essentials.

The hip belt pockets also include small internal attachment points for securing useful items.

The hip belt pocket zips are not waterproof.

External gear attachment points

Biggie Pack Ultra has attachment points and cord systems on the sides, front and bottom of the pack.

These can be used for items such as a foam sleeping pad, wet clothing or other lightweight gear that you prefer to carry outside the main compartment.

Ultra™ 200 fabric

The main material is Ultra™ 200 laminate fabric. According to Liteway, the woven face fabric consists of 67% UHMWPE and 33% Repreve recycled polyester.

Ultra 200 combines high tear and abrasion resistance with very low weight. Its backing film is made from recycled material and is designed to provide additional durability and UV resistance.

Waterproof fabric, but not a waterproof backpack

The Ultra™ 200 main fabric is waterproof, but the backpack seams are not sealed. This means the finished backpack is not fully waterproof.

A sleeping bag, spare clothing and other moisture-sensitive equipment should therefore be protected inside a waterproof pack liner or individual dry bags.

Hydration compatible

Biggie Pack Ultra 45L is compatible with hydration systems, allowing it to be used with a separate hydration bladder.

Maximum load 12 kg

The manufacturer’s stated maximum load is 12 kg. As this is an ultralight frameless backpack, it is not designed to carry heavy loads in the same way as a rigid framed trekking pack.

Biggie Pack Ultra works best as part of a lightweight backpacking system where the shelter, sleep system and other gear have also been selected with weight in mind.
