Description
Trekking hammock 330 cm long with a ridgeline – Sirius II Hammock Mavaja
Now available for pre-order, estimated delivery date in early June.
A camping hammock with a mosquito net, approximately 330 cm long and 147 cm wide. The hammock has an asymmetrical shape, which automatically positions the sleeping position diagonally, meaning you lie at a steep angle with your head to the left.
Note: Each Sirius hammock is handmade, so the length may vary by +/- 5 cm.
Diagonal Sleeping Position
In the Sirius hammock, the optimal sleeping position is with your head to the left and your legs to the right, in a diagonal position. Generally, most people position themselves with their head slightly to the left of the centerline. This left-leaning position is common for right-handed individuals.
Ridgeline
An adjustable ridgeline runs from one end of the hammock to the other. The ridgeline controls the distance between the hammock ends. Typically, the ridgeline measures approximately 83% of the length of the hammock fabric. In the Sirius II hammock, the ridgeline is adjustable. Do not adjust the ridgeline to be too long compared to your hammock, as it may cause the mosquito net to tear, which is not covered by warranty but considered user error.
The ridgeline can also serve as support when getting in or out of the hammock. The ridgeline is pre-installed in the hammock and is made of 3.5 mm thick UHMWPE cord.
Hammock Fabric Material
The hammock body is made of 40D ripstop nylon with a DWR treatment to repel dirt and moisture. The fabric feels comfortable against the skin, being soft and breathable while still durable.
Mosquito Net Material
The mosquito net in the hammock is made of dense no-see-um polyester and is black in color, allowing good visibility through it. The netting is tight and keeps mosquitoes and gnats away.
Mosquito Net and Zippers
The mosquito net features two double-sided sliders that allow you to position the opening according to your preference. Before detaching the hammock from the trees, it is advisable to move the sliders under the flap located at the end of the hammock. This way, they are well protected and less likely to damage the netting.
Under the flap, there is a mesh pocket for storing the mosquito net. The mosquito net cannot be completely detached; it is attached to the hammock at both ends with zippers.
Spread Points or Side Pull-Outs
On each side of the hammock, there are two attachment points where shock cord can be attached. These attachment points are intended to spread the hammock at the shoulders and feet, making the sleeping position even more comfortable. Many users choose not to use these attachments as they can complicate the setup of an underquilt. The hammock can be set up without using the shock cords.
Note: Stakes are not included with the product and must be purchased separately.
Ridgeline Bag
The hammock comes with a ridgeline bag that has mesh pockets and a compartment for holding a water bottle horizontally. The ridgeline bag is already attached to the ridgeline.
Bishop Stuff Sack
The hammock is packed in a Bishop Stuff Sack, which is essentially a cylindrical fabric bag. The ends of the Bishop Stuff Sack have drawstrings for closing it from both ends. The sack is spacious enough so that packing the hammock doesn’t require much force.
Attachment Loops at the Ends
The ends of the hammock have attachment loops made of 3.5 mm UHMWPE. The hammock ridgeline is attached to these loops. Always keep the end loops outside the stuff sack to make hanging the hammock easier without having to search for them inside the bag.
The Daisy Chain tree straps and carabiners shown in the pictures are not included with the product.
