Ultralight Backpack 35 L Gramless Pack Liteway
Ultralight backpack 35 L Gramless Pack is a minimalist, frameless hiking backpack for lightweight backpacking, ultralight gear systems and hikers who want to keep the weight of the backpack itself as low as possible. Liteway Gramless Pack offers a total volume of 35 litres, a roll-top closure and several easily accessible external pockets. Depending on the material version, the backpack weighs approximately 410–490 g.
Gramless Pack is designed as a simple and efficient carrying system without a heavy internal frame. The manufacturer states a maximum load of 12 kg, so the backpack is best suited to a lightweight and carefully planned gear setup where the overall weight of the rest of the equipment is also kept moderate.
Ultralight backpack 35 L for hiking and lightweight backpacking
Of the Gramless Pack’s 35-litre total volume, the main compartment provides 28 litres. In addition, the backpack has a 3-litre front pocket, two approximately 1.5-litre side pockets and two approximately 0.5-litre stretch pockets on the shoulder straps.
The pocket layout allows frequently used items to remain easily accessible without opening the main compartment. According to the manufacturer, the side pockets can hold approximately 1.5–2 litre water bottles, and drainage holes at the bottom allow water to escape.
Frameless backpack for a light and carefully packed load
Gramless Pack is a frameless backpack, so the way the load is packed has a direct effect on carrying comfort. Soft items can be arranged against the back to create an even surface, and attachment loops allow a sleeping pad to be secured externally.
The main advantage of the frameless construction is its very low weight. At the same time, it means the backpack performs best when the total load remains moderate. The manufacturer states a maximum carrying capacity of 12 kg.
Ecopak EPX200 or UltraGrid?
Liteway Gramless Pack is available in two main material options: Ecopak™ EPX200 and UltraGrid™. Both materials are designed for lightweight outdoor equipment, but their construction and weight differ.
Ecopak™ EPX200 is made from 100% recycled polyester components. The material features a fluorocarbon-free C0 DWR treatment and a 70-denier ripstop backing designed to improve seam holding strength and overall durability. The Ecopak version weighs approximately 490 g.
UltraGrid™ is made from recycled 210D nylon yarn and reinforced with an Ultra™ ripstop grid. The material features a fluorocarbon-free C0 DWR treatment and a 1500 mm PU backing. The UltraGrid version weighs approximately 410 g.
Waterproof fabric, but not a fully waterproof backpack
The main fabric of the Gramless Pack is waterproof, but the seams are not taped. For this reason, the backpack as a whole is not waterproof.
Items that need protection from rain, such as spare clothing, a sleeping bag or electronics, should be protected inside a separate dry bag or waterproof pack liner.
Roll-top closure for adjustable volume
Gramless Pack uses a simple roll-top closure that makes the main compartment quick to load and allows the upper part of the pack to be adjusted according to the amount of gear carried.
With a smaller load, the top can be rolled down more tightly. With a larger load, the roll-top provides additional usable space without the need for heavy zips or complicated closure systems.
Five additional pockets for quick-access gear
The ultralight Gramless Pack 35 L has five additional pockets for keeping frequently used items such as water bottles, rain gear, maps, a phone or snacks within easy reach.

The side pockets also include small attachment points for securing useful small items.
Attachment points for additional gear
Loops around the backpack can be used with the included elastic cord to secure lightweight equipment to the outside of the pack. The attachment points also allow a sleeping pad or other lightweight gear to be carried externally.
Gramless Pack is compatible with a hydration system. A removable and adjustable sternum strap is included.
Choose the correct back length
Gramless Pack is available in three back lengths:
- XS: 40 cm
- S/M: 45 cm
- M/L: 50 cm
Choose the size primarily according to Liteway’s stated backpack back length. Overall body height alone is not always a reliable guide, as body proportions vary between users.
